1. How do I use points for a stay at a Marriott hotel?
Reserve with Marriott Rewards points
If you have enough points at the time of reservation, your reward certificate will be forwarded electronically right to the hotel.

2. How do I use points for a stay at The Ritz-Carlton®? 
Reserve with The Ritz-Carlton Rewards points
If you have enough points at the time of reservation, your reward certificate will be electronically forwarded to the hotel. You need not take any actions; everything will be taken care of for you.

3. What if I don't have enough points at the time of my reservation to redeem my hotel reward?
If you have the required amount of points at the time you first make (or later modify) your reward reservation, your points will automatically be deducted from your account when you submit your new (or modified) reservation.
 
If you do not have enough points at the time you first make (or later modify) your reward reservation, you can still reserve your room. When you make your reservation, be sure to select the option to "Use Marriott Rewards Points" for your hotel stay. Your room will be reserved, but your reward redemption will not be processed. You will receive an email confirmation of your room reservation only.
 
Before your stay, you will either have to purchase points (can purchase 50,000 points per account per year) or make additional stays to earn enough points to cover the difference.
 
Once you have enough points for your stay, you can order your reward online. Use the Change/Cancel Reservations link to find your reservation, then use the Order your reward certificate link.
 
Your points will be redeemed for your stay, and you will receive an email confirmation of your reward order along with a reminder of your reservation information.


Please note that your hotel reward e-certificate will be accessible at your hotel upon check-in. You will not receive a certificate by mail.

4. What if I'm checking in within 48 hours for a reward redemption hotel stay?

5. How do I use points for air miles?
Once you have requested air miles rewards, mileage will be transferred to your frequent flyer account.

6. How do I use points for travel, events and shopping?
A.  Choose a reward.
B.  Review the Terms & Conditions.
C.  If applicable, make a reservation with the reward provider  (most made by phone) and indicate you want to use Marriott Rewards points.

8. How do I get express delivery of my certificate?
E-certificates for reward stays at Marriott hotels require about 24 hours to process. Paper certificates cost $10 and may take 10 business days to arrive in the US; up to 4 weeks elsewhere.

9. How do I cancel a reward?
To cancel a hotel reward, look up your reservation and select the option to "cancel."  Both your reservation and reward certificates will be cancelled.
 
For all other reward cancellations, please contact Marriott Rewards Customer Support.  All points will be credited to your Marriott Rewards account.

Reserving with Cash + Points

1. What is Cash + Points?
Cash + Points is an online booking tool that lets Rewards members combine redemption nights and cash nights within a single reservation of two nights or more. You will still earn points and Elite night credits for all nights paid with cash/credit card.

Cash + Points also gives you the flexibility to use points for just a portion of your stay, or add a few days of vacation before or after a business trip.

2. How do I make a Cash + Points reservation?
To book a reservation using Cash + Points, first check “Use Marriott Rewards points” in the hotel search box.  When the reservation form displays, select your room type/points for your stay of two nights or more.  Then select the “Use Cash + Points” checkbox.  A calendar will open for you to choose either a cash rate or a points rate for each night of your stay; you must include at least one redemption night. PointSavers will appear when available.

3. Will I earn points and Elite night credits for my cash nights?
Yes. As a Rewards member, you’ll still earn points and Elite night credits for cash nights; redemption nights are exempt from earning Elite night credits.

4. Can I combine cash and points within a night?
Cash + Points may only be used for combining redemption nights and cash nights within a reservation of two nights or more; individual nights must be all points or all cash.

5. Can I try different combinations of cash nights and points nights before I book?
Yes. After entering your first combination, you may try others and then select “Recalculate your rate combination” to continue.

Based on your selection, if alternate rate combinations exist that may offer a better cash value, a better use of points or a better combination of the two, they will automatically display next to the calendar.

6. Do I still get my 5th redemption night free with Cash + Points?
Every 5th redemption night is free when at least 5 nights are the same rate (either standard or PointSavers). The redemption nights do not need to be consecutive.

7. Can I use PointSavers with Cash + Points?
Yes. When PointSavers rates are available, they will automatically appear on the calendar.

8. Can I use special rates with Cash + Points?
The Cash + Points booking tool will display PointSavers and exclusive member offers when available. Corporate and government rates, AAA and senior discounts will not appear.

9. Can I use Cash + Points with a package?
If you book a package, the package amenities may not be available on your redemption nights, but will remain in effect for your cash nights.
