Getting Around in Athens

Athens enjoys a state-of-the-art public transportation system (Metro) that is unrivaled in Europe. Known for its timeliness and convenience, the Metro stations also serve as miniature museums showcasing Greek art and artifacts, as well as stunning original 19th-century architecture.

The closest Metro station to the hotel is Syntagma Station. At the station, please follow the clearly marked exit signs for Hotel Grande Bretagne. As you leave the station you will see the hotel directly across the street.

It is worth mentioning that the gorgeous Syntagma Station is replete with extraordinary antiques and archaeological findings from the city's excavations, providing a fascinating divertissement for visitors to enjoy.

The three major train lines that run during the day:

Metro Line 1 (the electric rail service ISAP) connects the center of Athens with the Port of Piraeus. This train runs above ground.

Metro Line 2 covers a considerable part of the Attica region. This train runs underground.

Metro Line 3 covers the Attica region and offers convenient service between Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and the hotel. This train also runs underground.
