49th International Festival of Theatre | 2 - 11 July
Organised by the Biennale of Venice, the festival features daily events with the most important protagonists of the contemporary theatrical scene. The 49th edition will be directed by Stefano Ricci and Gianni Forte.
Festa del Redentore | 17 - 18 July 2021
The most popular event in the Venetian calendar. Instituted in 1576 this characteristic annual festival celebrates the end of a terrible plague. Fireworks illuminate St. Mark’s basin on the Saturday night amongst feasting and revelry.
15th International Festival of Contemporary Dance | 23 July - 1 August 2021
Organised by the Biennale of Venice, and directed by Wayne McGregor, the programme of the 15th edition of the festival features daily events with soloists and international companies.
78th Venice International Film Festival | 1 - 11 September 2021
Organised by the Biennale of Venice and the oldest film festival in the world, the festival promotes international cinema in all its forms in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.
Venice Glass Week | 4 - 12 September 2021

Historical Regatta | 5 September 2021
A spectacular procession of decorated historic craft along the Grand Canal followed by competitive regattas, a trial of strength and skill for the city’s gondoliers and other expert rowers.

International Festival of Contemporary Music | 17-26 September 2021
The 65th International Festival of Contemporary Music will showcase several daily events. Composer Ivan Fedele will direct the Music department.
8th Venice Hospitality Challenge | 17th October 2021
Officially recognized as the Grand Prix of Venice, this unique and annual event combines the nautical and sporting tradition of the Serenissima with the glamour of Venice. Ten maxi yachts compete in St. Mark’s Basin for the Challenge Trophy.
Festa Della Salute | 21 November 2021
A religious feast day instituted in 1630 celebrating the city’s miraculous delivery from the plague. A pontoon bridge is strung across the Grand Canal to the Madonna della Salute Basilica so Venetians may make the pilgrimage to pay homage to the Madonna and to light a candle asking her to keep them in good health.
