The Sheraton Addis takes great pride in its support of the local Ethiopian cause by way of hosting special events such as the Annual Bag Show, Art of Ethiopia and Addis Foto Fest as well as other activities.
The Bag Show is a fundraiser event organized by Prologue and Cactus organised to support local bag designers and manufacturers to showcase their latest designs, while raising funds for Our Father’s Kitchen. The show seeks to support local designers, (primarily women) to showcase their bag designs while raising funds. Top 11 innovative & creative Ethiopian bag designers have been selected to showcase their work on stage this year. This annual exciting show is rich with beautiful design of bags and available for sale at the pop-up shop.
In our goal to promote Ethiopia, we feel that it is necessary to promote Design & fashion to be recognized globally. The show provides a unique opportunity for the bag designers to showcase their creative works & for invited guests to view & purchase one of a kind gorgeous bags beautifully crafted while supporting a great local charity. The show also endeavors to highlight new leather artisans every year.
Our Father’s Kitchen is a children’s feeding program, working to make a difference in the lives of children. Many underprivileged children, in particular orphans and those living with HIV/AIDS, are fed via this program every day to help them have healthier lives.
As part of our hotel’s community outreach program and in keeping with our mission, community service is one of our highest institutional priorities.
