Dive to “The Elbow,” home to shipwrecks and moray eels, or see the “Christ of the Deep” statue at the Key Largo Dry Rocks.
If you’d rather stay on the surface, then try snorkelling or book a fishing charter. For a unique look at local wildlife from dry land, visit the Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center. Founded by Laura Quinn, the sanctuary serves as protected land for some of the area’s most beautiful species. The Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park is another must visit for an up-close look into Florida’s wildlife.
Back on land, you can shop for souvenirs or take home a locally created piece from the Key Largo Art Gallery. Our accommodation is also convenient to a variety of restaurants, but you should try the local flavours at least once: conch fritters, fresh mahi-mahi, Florida lobster from August to March and authentic Key lime pie (look for yellow filling).
