Hannover

Begin your visit to the German city of Hannover by taking in the central Marktplatz, where you can marvel at the architecture of the Marktkirche, or market church. From here, explore the Old City, including the History Museum and the New Town Hall that sits right on the lovely Maschteich. Next, stroll along the many paths around the Maschpark that surrounds the Town Hall and Maschsee Lake. From here, discover the many exciting museums that the city has to offer, including the Home of Baron Munchausen, the Landesmuseum (provincial museum), and the Lower Saxony State Museum. Other options include the Museum August Kestner that displays an important Egyptian collection, the Wilhelm Busch Museum and the collection of modern art at the Sprengel Museum. Guests at Hannover hotels have plenty of other attractions to marvel at, such as the Marienburg Castle, the Sea Life Aquarium, Hannover Zoo or the famous Nanas, giant statues made by Niki de Saint Phalle. For shopping and dining, there are different neighbourhoods you can choose from. The Kröpcke is a lovely pedestrian area with shops and restaurants, or head to the Herrenhauser Allee with its historic atmosphere and many dinner options.
