George Moore Suite (55 of 61)

George Moore, playwright and novelist, was born on 24 February 1852 in Moore Hall House, on the shores of Lough Carra, County Mayo, Ireland. Moore is reputed to have written 'The Bending of the Bough' while staying at The Shelbourne Hotel. He immortalized The Shelbourne in his third novel 'A Drama in Muslin' – a study of the prevailing social conditions of the Irish people, who were desperate for political change and growth.
