The Flatirons, Boulder’s famous backdrop, rise 2,000 feet above the plains. Though you may be content to just gaze on them from a distance, the Boulder area offers a wealth of hiking trails. You can stroll through the prairie grasslands of east Boulder, climb the rising foothills and canyons of the west, or explore alpine treasures in the Flatirons themselves, or many other mountains in the area. Most Flatirons hikes begin on the Chautauqua grounds, just 10 minutes from your room.
