The 14th-century Residenz royal palace, Frauenkirche church, high-tech BMW World museum and splendid Alte Pinakothek art gallery are just some of Munich’s attractions. Königsplatz offers some wonderful historic architecture, as does Marienplatz with its fine shopping, dining and nightlife. It’s easy to find Munich accommodation nearby.
Head out from your hotel in Munich and stop by a famous beer hall, such as Hofbräuhaus. If you’re brave enough, join locals topping up their “all over” body tans at the English Garden. Or, for a more modestly dressed scene, visit Olympic Park and perhaps journey to the top of the Olympic Tower for views from the revolving restaurant.
Hearty Bavarian and European cuisine form the basis of the dining scene in many of our Munich hotels and restaurants, though the old artist’s district of Schwabing serves up a broader buffet of world cuisine alongside funky shops. Shoppers with an eye on designer fashion will find the Maximilianstrasse a fruitful experience.
